Fred Sloan Born: September 6, 1951 Died: May 17, 2016 Fred (Al) Sloan, III, 64, died at home Tuesday, May 17, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a longtime resident of Hinckley, Illinois. Al was born on September 6, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of the late Dr. Fred A. Sloan, Jr. and Blanche Carlton Sloan, now of Carbondale Illinois. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Georgina C. Sloan; his mother, Blanche; and daughters, Catherine C. Sloan, Serena Carvajal and Nina Karpinski; and four grandchildren, cousins, nephews and niece in Tennessee, Mississippi. Al was a graduate of Carbondale High School and attended Southern Illinois University. Over the years, Al had been active in the BMW Air Head Motorcycle Club serving for many years as the Illinois Air Marshall, CEO and Director of the Air Store. He also hosted annual Air Head Tech Days in which he made lifelong friends. The relatives and friends of Al are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 27, at Cheshire Club House in Prestbury, 15 Winthrop, New Road Sugar Grove, Illinois. Following the service, the family will receive friends at a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to be given to the American Cancer Society.
